I realize that there are always a lot of questions during contract negotiations. The officers will do our very best to answer as many of those questions as possible. The best place to get that information wil be at your local union meeting.
The proposals were exchanged this week, 23 proposed by the company and 43 proposed by the union. The company noted that a primary goal was to reach a one year agreement. Whereas, the union is proposing a four to five year agreement. The company cited the pending merger with Duke as a driver for attaining a one year agreement.
All of the proposals are posted on this web site's home page and I will be making as many updates as possible throughout the course of negotiations.
Due to negotiations, I will not be immediately available via telephone. I will be checking my voicemail every afternoon and will be monitoring my email. If you need immediate assistance please contact Brother Mark McGuffee.
I would encourage each of you to continue to work safe and represent the IBEW as you always do. We are the finest craftsmen in the world and provide exceptional service to each of our customers. Thank you for all you do!!
Fraternally,
